    Overview

    Shaw Communication initiated a multiyear Technology Transformation program as part of its speed to market strategy leveraging modern technology. The transformation program involved an extensive modernization of its technology platform from a legacy environment into a Cloud infrastructure.

    With our Digital Transformation expertise, we helped Shaw transform its legacy technology environment into a digital platform leveraging the VMware Cloud Infrastructure. EC Strategy contributed to the successful delivery of other initiatives within the transformation program including the design and implementation of a Planview PPM platform, ERP backend modernization initiatives and the business process optimization of the infrastructure delivery project lifecycle.

    Overview

    Strathcona County is on a transformation journey with the Multiyear Planning and Execution (MYPE) project. With the changes introduced to the Municipal Government Act (MGA) in 2018, the County’s annual budget cycle has evolved into a multiyear planning & execution cycle tailored to the Project Portfolio Management methodology. EC Strategy helped the County shape this into a modern approach for prioritization of the portfolio of investments across the 19 lines of business.

    With our agile Project Portfolio Management practice, we helped the County establish a foundation for implementing a strategy execution management framework based on the Organization Project Management (OPM) methodology which aligns project investments with County’s strategic objectives. A digital platform is being implemented to provide global visibility across Agile and Traditional projects and to optimize the County’s portfolio, financials and resources enterprise-wide.

    Our engagement also involved setting up the first stage of a corporate project management office which enables Corporate Planning role to support the executive team the oversight of portfolio of approved initiatives.  With Microsoft OnePlan adaptive PPM platform, the corporate PMO provides an enterprise-wide visibility across all projects.
